Digital Illustration is a one term course. During this course scholars are introduced to artist principles, typography, desktop publishing and color theory through the study of vector art production.
There are three components to this proposed course.
The Vector Art unit encompasses art elements and principles as they are applied in a digital art setting. Scholars are introduced to tablet drawing as well as color theory. Productions created during this unit are added to the scholar's electronic portfolio.
Typography introduces text to the scholar's visual compositions. The study of typography enhances the previous word processing unit of instruction through a thorough consideration of typographical elements.
Scholars study design principles related to print and electronic media production during this unit of instruction. Scholars are tasked with generating effective content according to the goals of effective communication.
